Blocked Cold Feed 

When called to swap a burst hot water cylinder I drained down and then noticed that there was water still in the feed and expansion cistern, on the cold feed below was a 15mm gate valve (which incidentally is illegal on an installation unless the boiler fitted has a high limit thermostat). When I took the gate valve off you could see the debris that had built up inside blocking the pipe.
